TOXIC.

Our rotation in the Operating Room just finished last Saturday. Our group was grateful because we experienced a lot of cases during our stay in Morong Doctors Hospital for the last two weeks.

Our first day was just the same routine we usually do. Orientation, Guidelines, things to remember, etc. We do not have a case that time that's why we helped the nurses on duty to get the Vital Signs of the other patients. After we did so, we had our first test, a pre-test actually. then, we did our daily work sheets: NCP, Drug Study and Charting. The day went well after that.

Our second day was just the same like the first day, the only difference was we had a case. An Appendectomy. and luckily, it was my patient, after the operation, I have to get his Vital Signs for every 15 minutes. but unfortunately, during the time that I was getting the vital signs of my patient, is the time that our Clinical Instructor was discussing somethings to my other group mates. But she gave me consideration and taught me those things after I got my Patient's VS. We also had our second quiz that day. The result is way better than our pre-test. hehe. :)) then, we did our daily work sheets: NCP, Drug Study and Charting. The day went well after that.

Our third day was spent just like the other days. We also had another case which is Appendectomy but it was with a 9 year old patient. after the operation, we proceed on making our daily work sheets: NCP, Drug Study and Charting. The day went well after that.

The Second Week.

Our fourth day was the same again just like the other days. We also had another case which is Cholecystectomy. after the operation, we proceed on making our daily work sheets: NCP, Drug Study and Charting. The day went well after that.

Our fifth day was spent also just like the same. We didn't have any case at that day that's why we just proceed  on making our daily work sheets: NCP, Drug Study and Charting. but while we're checking our patient's chart, our Clinical Instructor gave us a surprise quiz and we had different sets because it is based on our patients. luckily, no one got failed on that exam. The day went well after that.

Our sixth and last day, I was expecting that it would be less work, less toxic since it was our last day, but I was wrong. It was definitely the toxic among our stay in the hospital. At 8am, we got our patients' Vital signs, then we proceed to the operating room because there was a case, which is Hemorrhoidectomy. then after the operation, we later found out that there will be another case which is a CS scheduled after lunch. We really thought that we will not have enough time to eat our lunch. good thing we managed our time wisely. :) After we ate our lunch, we proceed on getting the VS of our patients then went to the Operating room for the case then after cleaning all the materials, we went back to our room and took our Evaluation Exam, though it was a busy day, the result of our eval exam went well.

Our rotation last week was tiring but we had fun taking good care of our patients. Most of them is actually calling us as a Nurse. :) It was a good feeling to be called like that. :) I'm looking forward to other rotations this semester. :)

'till then, bye.
